I read some of the responses to my reviews. First off, don't take these statements personally, I don't bash people to make them look like idiots, sometimes it's hard truth that is the best for beginners. You are apparently a novice recorder/musician, all songwriters go through that stage. You just need to practice, it took me 5 years of songwriting to even really show people my work because I thought I sucked, now i just have fun doing and even though some people don't like and some do, I don't care because it's all for fun. It takes time man, don't be discouraged, and don't quit. In time with practice you will get better. It's cool that you are putting stuff up here to share. I am not a pushover when it comes to reviewing, so don't take it personally. Just have fun doing it and expect some people to not like it.
All I can say is practice practice practice.
And I don't think you are an idiot nor was it my intent to make you look like one, every musician starts out as a 0, slowly they make it up to a 10 (and believe me I haven't given any real song on here a 10).
Just work hard and it will pay off. As for this song, it was ok. National Anthem and all, the recording quality could be better. I did take a 6 month course in computer recording techniques so if you want any tips PM me and I will be happy to help!

I like this piece, very flowing. I like the string progression. I see someone 0 bombed you, immature, I get that too. Oh well.
Well I'm not going to 0 bomb you, in fact this deserves a 5 purely because of the effort. Nice arppegiation and diversity even though the progression repeats the melody doesn't.
You should put more stuff up. Good work!
(p.s. I am a very strict reviewer so an 8 is pretty damn good! You'd have to write a new Beethovens Moonlight Sonata to get a 10 from me!!!)

From one orchestrater to another, nice job man!
I like the music, the sounds were pretty good (Garritan, Sibelius, finale?). This song really tells a story, which is hard to come by on this site. The only complaint I would have is the Clarity.
During much of the song there was a lot going on, and the sounds tend to clash (besides the percussion, that was sweet!).
Are you panning the instruments in all directions? That is a trick I've learned, make sure every instrument is at a different pan level.
(i.e. Trumpets +30 L, Trombones +30 R, Percussion 0, violins +15 R etc. etc.). Sometimes I couldn't really tell what was going on where, but maybe that's what you were going for.
I am a very strict reviewer, and this is one of few songs I rate above a 6. So feel privilaged!!! I rate a 5/5 for the effort and the story you put into this piece. My favorite of yours hands down!!

(p.s. could you rate and review some of my orchestrations? They are pretty short but I would appreciate your feedback!)

Not too shabby

I like the melody of it, but I do agree with the other reviewer that is does get a little repetitive, but it could be worse! It sounds more like a video hame song than classical (with the drum beat and all).
But not too bad my friend.

Not very jazzy

Nah, this shouldn't be in the jazz catagory at all. It would be better off either in classical or Video Game. The drum beat was very repetitive (the 1/4 triplet thing especially), but I did like the Locrian Mode progressions in the middle of the song. Gave it a nice touch. If you dont like jazz, why did you put it in the Jazz catagory anyways (hence the 6 rating)?
Oh and by the way I have original stuff on my page now, so you can go massacre the ratings if you wish ;)
Overall I did like the song, the sounds could be better, and you should put more stuff up, ya know, for shits and giggles.
And no I dont think you suck, and I dont hate you for it. I would give you a 3.5, but I cant, so I will round up to 4.

Good idea

I liked it, one thing I found though are the loud ass drums. It's really taking away from the industrial feel. I can hear a tight ass melody in the background, but the cymbals are drowning it completly! I would give you a 10, but I can't hear all of the music.

I like this song, I'm not a big fan of FL though, I'm a Logic guy myself, but that doesn't matter. My only suggestion would be to fill in the song with song "growls" or ambient reverberated drum beats. It sounds a little empty in some parts. I believe Industrial should be very busy constantly with a few breaks. I like the mix though, so I gave you a 9.

thanks. i haven't used FL studio in a while, but you should have voted for the resubmitted version. this one is useless. And I kinda wanted the empty bass part, but the ending is kinda lacking but I just wanted to finish it. Oh well.

Not bad

I like this song, however I agree with the other reviewers regarding this genre. It isn't very industrial, it's more techno than anything. To me Industrial is IN YOUR FACE BITCHES!!!! This is pretty flowing, there are a few elements that may be industrial, but in general I think it's techno.

Got a few tips

Overall not too bad, I don't think it's a rip off of Mario Bros., it does sound like it belongs in it though. In my opinion though it sounds a bit empty in parts. The snare could use some reverb and the song in general could use some Orchestra Hits to create more suprise and tension.
I didn't like the ending too much, a little too short, no finale.
In general you did a good job, Just add a little more diversity and the element of suprise and it would be even better.
